Directions:
DRIVING
Note: It is usually difficult to park, either in paid lots or on the street,
until after 12:30.
From the East Bay or from Downtown San Francisco:
Take Highway 101 south, drive past General Hospital, staying in the right lane.
Take the 280 turnoff, and proceed for a couple of miles, staying in the right
lane. Take the City College / Ocean Avenue exit. Go to the first
stoplight, then turn right into a student parking lot. Purchase a parking
ticket and place it in your car. Walk up the stairs (about 3/4 up the hill) and
go left. Enter through the glass doors and walk down the hall until you see the
Statler Library.
From Marin or the Richmond or Sunset districts:
Drive to 19th Avenue, proceeding South until you reach Ocean Avenue, which is
just past Sloat and the Stern Grove Park. Make a right turn and turn around so
you are driving East (you cannot turn left from 19th to Ocean). Proceed about 1
1/2 miles in the right lane until you see the Fire station and the main
entrance to City College. Go up the ramp marked Geneva Avenue, go one block and
turn left on Howth. Cross Ocean and enter the student parking lot. Purchase a
parking ticket and place it in your car. Walk up the stairs (about 3/4 up the
hill) and go left. Enter through the glass doors and walk down the hall until
you see the Statler Library.
From San Mateo Peninsula:
Drive North on Highway 280 and take the City College / Cow Palace exit in the
left lane. At the stop light turn left and get in the right lane. Go two blocks
and turn right on Howth. Cross Ocean Avenue and enter the student parking lot.
Purchase a parking ticket and place it in your car. Walk up the stairs (about
3/4 up the hill) and go left. Enter through the glass doors and walk down the
hall until you see the Statler Library.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
BART
Get off at the Balboa Park station. When you get to the street
level on Geneva Avenue, head West (uphill) on the right side of the street.
Walk 2 1/2 blocks and use the pedestrian overpass which takes you on to the
campus. Walk a few hundred feet to your right until you see the Statler Library
sign.
MUNI
The K car and the 15 Third Street, 36 Teresita, 43 Masonic, and 49
Van Ness buses serve City College.
