To maintain order, consistency and accuracy of information published
via the CCSF World Wide Web services, these standards and guidelines
were established by the ITPC (Information Technology Policy Committee.)
For web pages that are part of the college website:
- No commercial advertising or for-profit activities.
Advertising,
defined as a link that is provided in the form of a graphic or text
to a specific website, either in exchange for goods, services, or
monetary compensation from an outside source.
- No solicitation or acceptance of credit card information or any other personal information,
except to conduct school business (e.g. payment for registration.)
- No distribution of materials that violate copyright.
- No excessive computer resource consumption
Student, individual staff / faculty, and class project pages not representing the college:
- Each page must have a link to the CCSF disclaimer page:

Formal approval is not required for student, staff and faculty individual's
pages. However, CCSF reserves the right to remove pages from the system
if they are deemed inappropriate, if they generate an excessive number of
complaints, or if they deviate in any way from our acceptable use policies
as outlined in the City College of San Francisco Computer Usage Policy,
or any other college policy.
Official Pages of CCSF offices, departments, schools or any
other entity (except student clubs):

Each page must have a link back to the CCSF main home page

Each page must provide contact information for the responsible party, preferably
in the form of a "mailto" html tag.

All pages will reside in the CCSF web server's file space

Each page must be approved for content by:

Instructional Departments - School Dean or appointed representative or Communications Committee

Administrative offices - PIO Office.

Each page must be approved for form and accessibility

Preview and/or update the site at least once a semester

Links to individual's pages are not allowed unless to an instructor page
related to the content of the page

Links to personal affiliations are not allowed

Links must be sanctioned and related to the content of the page

Vendor logos must be registered for use on official pages

All changes to student club pages must be re-approved by Dean of Student Activities.
Clubs update once a year (by AS officers) - all outdated sites will be removed.
